“SO YOU’RE MIZUKI RYOSUKE?” ASKED THE YOUNG, golden-haired girl. She was dressed up as an ancient knight from the Middle Ages and her metal armor clinked with every step as she approached our table. The burly-looking soldiers trailed behind her.

“That’s right, yes… You can speak Japanese?” I asked.

“The skill’s name is Auto-Translate. You can hardly call yourself an adventurer without knowing at least that much,” she said, looking down at me.

Atop her head she wore an imposing helmet decorated with a golden eagle, which looked more fitting for an old war general. It was like the one the Iron Chancellor Bismark wore in the history textbooks I read at school, with an iron spike sticking out from the top, garnished with a red feather.

“My name is Carol. Carol Middleton. I serve as captain of REA.”

“You?” I asked. I mean the getup sure is a spectacle, but she must still be a teenager… Late teens, maybe. Not an adult, that’s for sure.

“Is there a problem?” she demanded.
